We came here because of the great reviews, and it was an excellent experience. We were the only people in the small shop at 18:00 on a Monday. The woman showed us the set course menu, but I ordered some individual types instead. I don’t speak much Japanese so I just said the types of fish (toro, aji, etc) and she said whether it was available or not. But she used her iPad to translate some things. We got the fatty tuna belly, aji (mackerel), and eel. The aji had ginger paste on top- it was so good we ordered another round of it! I felt bad I couldn’t chat with them more but we we able to tell them in Japanese where we were from and she told us about her daughter who lived in the US. In total we ordered 15 pieces of sushi for 2 people, and were served green tea and fish miso soup, and it came to 5400. The quality was really outstanding. I hope one day I can come back and talk to them more.

This place is run by a lovely old couple who is passionate at their crafts. It was a homely experience and the sushi was great! We came at a bad season for sashimi but surprisingly the sushi was really fresh! Don’t be deceived by the looks of the place, it may be a old but it kept its tradition and these pair of loving old folks served us their best. You have to order the Otoro(fatty tuna belly), it’s amazing! It will be good to get yourself familiarise with the sushi serving tradition before coming! I give these two old folks 5 stars! If you do not know Japanese like me, it’s alright, grandma has it covered! She surprised us by pulling out an iPad which helped her and us with translation and communication.

Oishi! Delicious sushi served by a lovely old couple who seemed like they’ve been there for 60 years! The Sawara (seasonal Spanish mackerel) and Aji were amazing, I ordered an extra piece. Their fish miso was top notch. Even came with freshly grated wasabi, once you try some of that you won’t go back! 11 pieces of artisan sushi for ¥3200 is not bad given the quality and hospitality.
