Koinosuke — Restaurant in Kamakura

10/10 would recommend. The food quality is way above the price I paid and the service is simply exceptional.

I ordered one of the Sukiyaki sets and it was very flavorful and delicious. I was almost overwhelmed at first by the big pot of vegetables and the raw egg but the servers were very nice to explain to me how to enjoy it. The meat was so good that I couldn’t believe what I got for the price I paid.

I would like to especially thank our server, Mr. Mitokawa, who seems to be the director of this place, for his above and beyond service. We didn’t speak Japanese and wasn’t very good at English as well but he was very accommodating and super helpful in communicating with us. He also answered lots of our questions regarding the choice of sake and dishes and explained everything in detail. One member in our group was especially fond of salmons and red prawns and he even went out of his way to create a special a la carte set for us.

We were 8. Nobody exept us was in the caffe. The staff knew english bad. We were waiting for meal a lot of time. It wasn't tasty. It was sweet. I asked about hot drinks. Waiter said no. After he brought hot tea for another people who had sat with me. I didn't understand why. It was no one word to explane that from the staff. It is really the worst place in Japan during my visit and also the worst people. We divided our reciept and one set and cold tea with orange juice...

Came back for lunch after 2 years and the lunch set is still fantastic.

Phew.....didn't expect the food here to be so yummy!!!!

I highly recommend this place as the food is delicately prepared and the freshness of each item is just out of this world. The chawamushi is super smooth. We ordered 4 different kaiseki and bento set launches from the menu.
