Discovered this place on our first night in Kanazawa and would highly recommend it to those seeking a genuine travel experience, knowledgeable cocktails and a mix of local/foreign company. My partner and I were the first ones at the bar (after dinner) of the night and the proprietor made beautiful suggestions for cold sake and whisky based cocktails that sustained us through the night. We arrived intended to have a nightcap and go to rest, but ended up spending the entire evening trying variations of favourite drinks (trying the seasonal cocktails is a must) and speaking with other patrons. It feels like a warm cave and the proprietor does all she can to make sure that your needs and preferences are met. The tapas on offer are also good quality. We would have come back again but ended up having to leave early, but will certainly come back the next visit to Kanazawa! Saw this bar on google maps and i felt it had the kind of vibe i was looking for. The bartender was very friendly. Struck up at chat with a local japanese guy and both he and the bartender was patient with my half-decent japanese.
