German Bakery Katamachi — Restaurant in Kanazawa

Rude staff, ok pastries. They would NOT let me just get a pastry. Oh no, I had to get a drink with it too. Not up for negotiation. Seriously, who forces you to buy a drink with your food? It was some sort of deal they had (drink + pastry for a set price) but I don't see why it has to be mandatory. Never run into that before (not even in Japan). Interesting sweet and savoury selection of baked goods, although I’m not sure if there is anything particularly German about it, since the breads are typical of what you’d find at an Asian bakery. Regardless, our selections were tasty. We got some freshly made kinako doughnuts, which I enjoyed.

So, if you haven't had baked bread-products in japan, you are so missing out. They're brilliant in general, with some being more brilliant than others - this one for example. Pretty much everything is excellent - just be careful about not mixing up your sweets and savories :-)
