Very nice, simple and super japanese omakase sushi place. It’s a family business: an old man preparing the food and his, probably, wife taking care of the clients. She is a lovely grandma who tells you from how to eat the sushi to what kind of fish you’re eating. If you don’t speak japanese, she will put effort to speak in a simple but efficient english. He prepares a set of 8 pieces of sushi for 3800¥, drinks not included. There are only 6 seats at the counter but they don’t take any reservations. The quality of the food is good but it’s not superb. The place is elegant and not overly complicated, with a charming entrance. Both the waitress and the chef were very nice with us, and even explained how to properly eat sushi. Watching the chef making sushi was an awesome experience: it was hard to look away from his hands. It is true that for us foreigners the silence could feel slightly awkward, but I think one needs to learn from the way things are traditionally done. The fatty tuna, the squid and the braised mackerel were extraordinary! Highly...
