My friends and I stumbled upon this kitchen next to our hotel, and it was such a nice and incredible surprise!

The homemade matcha ice cream was the best I've ever had, and the fried oysters wrapped in seaweed and tempura vegetables were fantastic.

My friends loved the fresh caught sea bream sashimi and the swordfish with wasabi salad.

The chef was so kind and friendly - chatting with us about baseball and describing to us the ingredients of the foods he prepared and how the flavors of the dishes complimented each other and paired with the sakes he provided.

We found the entrance to the right of the metal sign on the street. We were greeted warmly and had no trouble getting a seat at the counter. I’m sure if it was another night, we may have needed a reservation, but we were lucky. We got the course meal and the chef expertly recommended sakes that would go well with what was served. Everything was delicious, with special items like the walnut miso and turnip that I don’t think I would otherwise experience in Japan.
