Beautiful space with ample seating on second floor.
They serve GEISHA coffee here, which is some of the tastiest light roast you’ll ever find in the world.
I had mine as a latte, and originally ordered it with soy milk. However, the barista came over to my table and explained that soy milk is so light that it won’t taste as good with such a light bean. So I changed to a regular milk Geisha latte, and she even refunded me the original ¥100 charge!
The latte was delicious, and my husband’s Geisha pour over was slightly acidic but super smooth going down. It was such a pleasant coffee to have black.
I have to mention, the cups they use are exquisite and I believe they’re part of the ceramic tradition local to Kanazawa. My cup was a beautiful blue with gold accents, which made it all more pleasing to drink (yes, I value the visual aesthetic!)
They have some siphon coffee devices inside but when we asked if they do siphon, they said no, so my guess is that it’s mostly for show.

Read moreFrom a coffee enthusiast's perspective, the coffees here tend to be on the dark, balanced side. I ordered a blended drip coffee that was described as very acidic. What I got was the opposite, quite a dark roast. My companion ordered a different single origin that was described as rich in flavour and acidity but it was somewhat bland, similar in profile to the generic drip coffee sachets you can purchase at a convenience store. Overall the coffee is passable but not good value at 700 yen. The interior of the store is very good and music selection is very relaxing. It's easy to spend a long time just relaxing in this nice environment with plenty of seats. They sell some coffee equipment and beautiful pottery made by a local artist. There is plenty of natural light on the 2nd floor.
(Regarding the coffee, if you like milk based or 'strong' coffee that isn't sour, this place is ok. But for the coffee addict who wants something different - Eg fruity, salty, winey, sweet - maybe try...
Read moreWe were visiting the Kanazawa Castle Park on a hot summer day and just before entering, we discovered this cosy oasis. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that perfectly blends traditional Japanese aesthetics with a modern coffee culture. We tried the iced coffee and was nothing short of exceptional. Beyond the coffee, the selection of homemade sweets is a real treat. The chocolate cake was a standout, perfectly complementing the coffee. The service is top-notch, with friendly staff. The location, right next to Kanazawa Castle Park, makes it an ideal stop whether you're a local or a tourist exploring the area. Overall, it's an experience that celebrates the art of coffee-making in a serene and...
