Tucked away in an unassuming neighbourhood an hour away from Tenjin/Hakata, Kikuzushi is one of the most highly rated Fukuoka sushi restaurants on Tabelog, and rightly so. Exquisite setting, young and confident Itamae, top notch sushi and at an unbeatable price (for lunch). The rice is strongly and uniquely vinegared. It stands up to the flavours of the fish and delivers a one-two punch to your taste buds. Certainly a very special experience and will surprise even advanced sushi enthusiasts. Sushi here is excellent‼️ I have been here twice for lunch, in 2015 and yesterday, and I'll come again in the future. It's a small shop with only 10 seats. Lunch course takes almost 2 hours for 10+ dishes. Every piece of sushi is a piece of art and it's so delicious. It may be a bit challenging for foreigners coz you need to book well in advance and most Japanese doesn't speak...

They used two types of vinegar for their shari (rice). During my first visit, the taste of the shari was super sour for some nigiris. But none for my...
