🟧 We passed by this Cocoro shop in Kawagoe, Saitama, saw the soft serve placard, and decided to go in for some ice-cream. 🟩 They are popular for their egg-shaped Baumkuchen, but we decided to get the soft serve as it was a hot day. 🔵 Seating is very limited in the small shop. 🟡 My husband and I decided to get the Matcha and Satsuma ( purple sweet potato) ice-cream cones. ✔️ The Satsuma purple sweet potato 🍠 ice-cream was infused with a very strong flavour of the root vegetable. 🟪 Tastes just like a thick slush of purple sweet potato ice-cream. 🟩 As for the matcha soft-serve, it was tasty. We stood outside the shop to eat the ice-cream as walking along the streets and eating your snacks or food is frowned upon in Japan. 🙏🏻 We have to adhere to the customs here.

Expensive and the sweet potato coffee tasted so bad, did not even taste even the slightest in it and it just tasted like regular latte to me. The owner seems friendly to lure people in but got a sour face when we are leaving, did not even said thank you.. truly disgust. There are even better coffee spots around this area.

The Custard egg wasn't really that impressive, but the owner was very helpful and shared some maps and his favorite places to go. He pointed out the shops he liked for teapots and chopsticks which is what I was looking for.

AVOID THIS ICE CREAM SHOP Owner behind the counter was knuckle deep in his nose as he greeted us. Really gross tbh. So I was just going to leave, but then he gave us the middle finger when we decided to just leave because we didn't want to buy booger flavored ice cream. So I just looked at him and he started to call us rude for not buying anything, which would normally upset me but then I remembered his shop was COMPLETELY EMPTY. So I told him to wash his hands as I made a nose picking gesture. Wild stuff and the other 1 star reviews tell similar stories of rude behavior from 'the old guy'. Unlike most people who came here for egg-shaped baumkuchen, I entered for softcream. They have some interesting favours like Satsuma imo (Japanese sweet potato) and Soda. I tried the first one. It was fantastic! With just 300 yen, you could savour an aromatic and tasteful sweet potato softcream while sitting, relaxing, and enjoying the busy road of Kawagoe.
