I recently had the opportunity to dine at this establishment. The food is great and its located very close to the station. I encourage people to give this restaurant a try because the owner has worked very hard on the menu. It deserves 4-5 stars in all categories other than service. Unfortunately, there is a serious problem with the attitude of one server. My experience with her in just one moment completely ruined my evening and next day.
I had an excellent dinning experience up until I paid my bill when this server decided that it was her place to educate me about the "objective comments" she believed that she overheard me making about other patrons in the dinning room.
Whatever my "objective comments" were, they certainly did not offend anyone (except apparently her). I did not say anything offensive. I simply do not understand precisely what the server meant when she said this. She refused to offer an explanation whatsoever. I was completely baffled and insulted.
I lodged a complaint with the owner who was extremely apologetic that his server was clearly eavesdropping on my conversation. He fully understood that this was unacceptable. Unfortunately, he was more concerned that the situation would become worse if he asked his server to apologize as per my request. I wish he had done more to redress the unprofessionalism of his staff this corrective action would have dissuaded me from feeling the need to write this unpleasant review. However, I feel that it is absolutely necessary that the server in question is aware that at least one customer believes that her seemingly hypersensitivity attitude towards male customers is totally out of line.
I believe that all patrons should have the right to dine in peace. It is never acceptable for a server to eavesdrop on a conversation and then presume that they understand the context well enough to pass their own judgement on their interpretation of something said. There was no problem until she created one with her unnecessary and ill-informed comment.
I sincerely hope that the owner reprimands his employee. I understand that people make mistakes but it wouldn't be unreasonable for an employee to be dismissed over something like this. I'm sure he will continue to employ her because he is a very nice man. However, I hope that the server has learned a valuable lesson about minding her own business, making unfounded accusations and being condescending to customers.
Customers do not expect a mini-lecture about political correctness when they are paying their bill. Please just stay focused on your job next time!
To the owner of this establishment: Please sit down with your employee and carefully re-read this review together. I will delete this review after you publicly apologize to me. I have no intention of continuing to speak badly about this establishment if it is clear to me that your employee understands why I am so...
Read moreStylish cafe built in front of the Toyoko Line ticket gate. It is so stylish that it does not look like Musashikosugi. However, since this is Musashi Kosugi, food prices are cheaper than in Tokyo, which is great! Therefore, it goes without saying that it must be popular. Of course on weekends there is a line even if you go there at 10:00 in the morning. You can register your phone number and they will call you, so you can hang out in the station building. There is also a library, so I recommend killing time waiting there. The restaurant is spacious and the vibe is very relaxed as many of customers are in a chilled talking mood. Food and coffee...
Read moreThe vegan soy meat salad was huge and delicious. The vegan falafel was crispy and not too dry on the inside. I also loved their bonsoy soy milk latte. The vegan options are limited, but clearly labeled and delicious. Even on a holiday at lunch time, we were seated immediately outdoors and offered blankets for warmth. It's a great spot for people watching. The music was a little loud outside, but I'll definitely be back. Don't forget to check out their vegan banana donut that's only available for take away from the counter on the side of the building next to the tokyu...
