I had the pleasure of visiting a sake brewery that left me thoroughly impressed. The experience was both captivating and delectable. The brewery's presentation in English made it accessible and engaging, while the tastefully designed shop added to the overall ambiance. The selection of sakes was not only diverse but also showcased the intricate flavors and craftsmanship that go into each variety. The tasting session was a journey of flavors, ranging from crisp and light to rich and robust, accompanied by insights into the brewing techniques that created such distinct profiles. This brewery undoubtedly offers a remarkable blend of education and indulgence, making it a must-visit for sake enthusiasts and...

(Pre-booking needed for tour). My wife and I went on a sake tasting spree in Nadagogo, and Shushinkan Fukuju is for sure the most informational, at least easier to diggest.

It is a simple 9-minute video followed by a 3 minute walk to see the factory, but in the tasting part they properly explain the difference between the Junmais, Ginjos, Daiginjos, etc.

The other 4 sake breweries we visited were also fun, but this was straightforward, clear, and more non-japanese-speaking friendly.

We bought the famous Junmai Daiginjo. Bring passport for tax free, and do yourself via train from Osaka, is very easy.

Hiromoto-san was the best guide and super helpful via email (booking needed - email...

Self-tour is possible, just need to get the Hanshin Tourist Pass (500yen) for unlimited Hanshin train ride and you will be able to explore all sake breweries around the area. Cheap and convenient! 9mins walk from Ishiyagawa station.

However this brewery does not offer tour (it was closed and maybe reservations may be needed? No information was given). The restaurant only opens during lunch and dinner, so visiting in the afternoon means no entrance to the restaurant as well.

Some tour groups were there so the place is packed and the staffs are busy entertaining the groups. Sake tasting is free, some award winning sake as well.

Not my favourite...

Brilliant place to go and experience Sake in Kobe. There is an English video that is very clear on the sake making process. You also get to taste sake FOC and understand why Ginjo Sake is drank cold. If you want to go and view the brewery, book online 2 days in advance. The friendly staff at the store helped me and my wife booked 1 day in advance, so you can try your luck asking the store. Excellence English and explanation by Alejandor who is really passionate about Sake. He understands the inside out of Sake and the processes of brewing alcohol. He is extremely friendly and willing to share his knowledge.
