Buffet Restaurant Ginnan — Restaurant in Kumamoto

I don’t know how this has such high reviews. I came here because of the high reviews recently. Don’t come here.

The staff is great. I’m sure the chefs are lovely.

You will leave stuffed if you choose. But damn, the food is just not good.

It seems like they put out some leftovers from lunch. I guess that makes sense. But still weird to see. Try to get things when they come out fresh. Fried chicken - VERY TOUGH to chew. Very dry.

Shrimp penne. Cold.

Huge no to the mustard lotus root. Like eating a table spoon of mustard.

The tempura is not well cooked at all. The sweet potato was still hard. And the bamboo root was hard to chew.

The spaghetti looked like it was from lunch and it was super dry.

Honestly, everything felt a little bit dry and a little bit room temp.

I was hoping to try some Kumamoto local foods like they said. Disappointed. Wish I spent ¥2700 somewhere else.

Sorry for the rough review. But I really wish I didn’t come here. Again, yes, I did eat it. I wanted to try it. But I wouldn’t have if I knew then...

I visited on a weekday at lunch time. There was already a huge reservation made. I was told I had to wait 1 hour. I took a look at the food, and there are not THAT many choices. But they seemed nice. The place is really clean.

I recommend you to make reservations beforehand (if it is possible) or consider the wait time...

A nice buffet lunch. Lots of choices to choose from a mixture of Japanese and Western dishes. Some dishes were quite good and some average. The Japanese dishes were a bit better. For the price and the amount you can eat, I'd say it's worth a try if you're travelling to Kumamoto and coming to...
