Sushi Katsu — Restaurant in Kurashiki

Update: On the day my newborn son and wife checked out of the hospital across the street, our family came by to have lunch before driving back home.

Sushi chef Kimura-san prepared a symbolic celebratory baby sized nigiri set for us! Such skill and generosity!

I am so impressed with the friendly service and high quality sushi that rivals some of the fancy sushi restaurants I have gone to in the Los Angeles area. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Every time we come to the hospital for a check up for my wife or baby, we will look to have a meal here and will not go anywhere else for sushi when we're in Kurashiki. Customers for life!!

Things to note, they're cash only and the menu is all in Japanese, however, there's display outside where you can point to the dishes and order from(which is what I did)

The sushi is so fresh and presented with so much care! I'm visiting the Kurashiki area and noticed this place as I was leaving the hospital to walk back to my hotel so I decided to try them out and I'm glad I did! Although I'm not able to speak much Japanese, I used the Google Translate app and spoke what I wanted to say in English and it translated it into Japanese so we were able to have a good conversation.

The chef and everyone are very nice and professional. The food quality is very high and the environment is very clean and decent. The ingredients are very fresh with the professional cooking.

They are really passionate and professional about their food products, recommendation and they love sharing with us about the experience of their life around here (not only food but also all the things they have experienced)

Meanwhile, the old lady is very cute as my mum. Even though they know we do not understand Japanese, they (especially the grandma) keep their best to introduce and help us enjoy the best.

The chef (owner) speaks English to try to share his experience with us and we really love everything of it. It is more than eating and it is a journey in here.
