Shabu Shabu MORI NISEKO しゃぶしゃぶ森 — Restaurant in Kutchan

Such a disappointing experience here. We were a group of 14, and everyone had to choose their meat shabu/sukiyaki beforehand. Knowing this, we each expected to be served our individual portion we ordered because the $ amount differs. But at the end, everything was served family style, and we were told by staff to share the meat - so people that ordered the expensive meat didn’t receive their full portion. Also because we were a big group, the servers were super confused of what meat was which, which was just chaos all over. When we feedback to the staff that this meal was so disappointing especially because everyone paid $150+ per person, there was no service recovery offered. The chef was super cocky and refused to serve individual meat portions, they also didn’t advise us to sit according to shabu or sukiyaki. All in all, the food was ok, but the experience was terrible and the service team was very inexperienced for such an expensive “high class” meal. Would not recommend for big groups - also beware that it is...

We were really looking forward to this place for Sukiyaki, however the reviews do not do justice for the poor service. The waiter and waitress seem totally clueless of the procedure, inattentive, and does not live up to Japanese standards service if we are charged 16,000 yen per set menu. Not only that, our wagyu beef was “burnt” (not photographed) since our waitress did not know how to cook it properly, as she cooked the first slice on high heat with not enough sauce… definitely wasn’t trained properly. However we only took one video moments before the waitress burnt the beef, though you can see the leek is already burnt. Quite shocked we were charged with this kind of service that we needed to cook the rest ourselves to ensure our paid wagyu was cooked properly….. Maybe hot pot might’ve been a better option…

The food from appetizers to dessert itself is great, but might need more training to live up...

Michellin restaurants are a frequent visit so price isnt a problem but this is over priced. Not worth what they charge. Very VERY sparing amount of meat given for the price and the service is just too quick. We were in and out during a set meal after 45 minutes? Multiple staff come in to help you clear things out as if they’re in a rush for you to leave but the restaurant is barely half full… My company was not ok with having the food taken away when all wasn’t finished. It’s like you’re given a time to finish your food before they disturb you to clear your food or move on and pay for the bill. Honestly, not even resting for 2 minutes after dessert and we were asked if we wanted the bill.

Staff were nice, friendly but maybe too efficient. Currently on the way to another eat cause we aren’t even full after a set menu...
