Indigo is one of the best Indian/Nepalese restaurants in Kyoto. It is also one of my favorite restaurants in all of Kyoto. In my last 7 months of living here, my wife and I have probably eaten here 40 or 50 times. That's not an exaggeration.
At this point, we have tried almost everything on the menu, but we naturally have our favorites. Not only is the food here amazing, the staff is great. They are very polite and always have a smile on their faces. There's something homey about the atmosphere.
They have everything from discounted Student Sets and seasonal sets, to All-You-Can-Drink and All-You-Can-Eat options (Only ¥2900 for 2 hours of AYCE and AYCD).
Some of our favorites include:
Biriyani, tomato base, with pork Dhaal Curry Vegetable Curry Pork Vindaloo Plain Naan Onion Naan Garlic Naan Malai Tikka Chicken Tikka Naan Roll

Read moreIndigo, located near Imadegawa Station in Kyoto, is a hidden gem for fans of all-you-can-eat naan. The freshly baked naan is soft, fluffy, and delicious — with options like cheese naan and garlic naan that keep things exciting. Curries are flavorful and customizable in terms of spice level, with classic options like butter chicken and keema. The lunch sets are especially budget-friendly, making it a hit with students and locals alike. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. If you’re craving endless naan and tasty Indian curry, Indigo is definitely...
Read moreThe food is fine but these places are a dime a dozen thanks to Japan’s trade agreement with India so let’s not rave too much … This one is new and clean at least and it doesn’t appear to have the staff sleeping in a back room like many do but you could throw a rock and hit other joint of this ilk all over Kyoto so let’s not go overboard with the praise . It’s alright.
There are loads of students dining here at all open times which can be a boon or a bane depending on...
