I love this place. Well the waiting to get inside during winter kinda sucks, but once you're in, it's amazing. Watch your head when you walk in, the roof is really low.
It's a traditional house. The inside of the house is still cold, but they have several space warmers close to tables, so it's warm and comfortable. They also give you a blanket in case you're still cold.
It was around 4pm, so we only ordered the matcha french toast with vanilla ice cream, coffee latte, and spiced chai latte. The texture of the matcha french toast is a little bit too soft for my liking, but it taste amazing!!! The coffee and the spiced chai latte taste yummy as well.
The atmosphere of this place is so good. Very traditional Japanese house yet they serve western food. I sat near a window that has a garden view, so it was really nice.
If you just want to order some bakery stuff, they sell them next door too without having to go here and...

The atmosphere and coffee were great, as was the chocolate-chestnut brownie cake (although the tiramisu needed some rum/Marsala to give it some zip!). Given the quality and portion size, we felt ¥1000 for the coffee and cake set was quite reasonable. They also have spacious garden out back, a bakery next door, and serve sandwiches and other food. It’s quite popular, so be prepared to wait a little. We recently went again, and enjoyed our visit just as much as the 1st time. This time we had a tasty lunch set (a variety of breads, with little bits of quiche, cold cuts, salad, etc.) and once again felt that given the quality, it was good value for money - although next time I would pass on the Sakura Coffee which sounded interesting but I really didn't feel worked. The only down side is that since it is popular, both times we had to wait maybe 15-20...
Read moreWe arrived here at 7:50 am and there was already a line up. We barely made the first batch of people who were able to sit down and eat.
Food: We were skeptical about quantity and quality of food relative to the prices that they had. Boy were we wrong: the food is amazing. It opened a whole new cuisine and appreciation for bread for us. For your first time, we'd reccomend the plate set since you get to try all the different things. The matcha is absolutely a must have, even if it is a bit pricey.
Atmosphere: You sit on tatami mats and must take off your shoes to enter. There's not a lot of table seats so be prepared to wait if you're not there early. Ignore any of the reviews that rates this place lowly because of wait times. Patience is worth if you want something good here in Japan, or you get there early.
Service: Our server spoke enough english such that ordering was easy. Food came fast. No problems...
