Peaceful and delicious! The perfect pre-lunch snack after walking around the beautiful temple area. We had shaved ice with matcha and red beans, mochi balls, some free tea, and fermented rice drink with ginger (I believe). It is pretty much outside, so you get to enjoy your tea and snacks whilst smelling the trees. Wonderful.

This is such an elegant place to eat a very good bowl of soba noodles or Mochi desserts (since 1862). Staff is very helpful. The restaurant is sort of open so you still have a view on the lovely park. Go here instead of the busy places close to the Kiyomiza-Dera temple away from the crowd. Arigato

We ordered a warabi mochi and a lemon kakigori (ice). The kakigori is what you should expect but the mochi was extremely disappointing - probably supermarket or even lower level. Definitely one of the worst I have tried through the whole trip. It’s a nice location and it can be chill but the food, don’t recommend. There are definitely better places to eat...
