We still think about this hotel. We loved staying here. We stayed only for one night in this traditional japanese Accommodation, and so glad we did. Our hosts were friendly, helpful and polite and seemed genuinely interested in us and our visit to Japan. Breakfast was amazing. Tradional Japanese breakfast. The room we had was lovely as well. It had good storage cupboards and also a fridge, water and tea. We had japanese robes and 'PJs' available in the room too. There was more amenities in the room than we expected which was a lovely surprise. The floors seemed to have two rooms which shared a shower room and their were two toilets. There are also two japanese style baths on the top floor which you book in for. Our host was very accommodating in getting us a time slot as we were only staying one nght. ||The location is great for sightseeing. It is a little far to walk with cases from the train station so we got a cab which was easy and a good price. For sightseeing you are right there, next to the main steps and close to shops and tea ceremonies. There is also a tour bus which runs like a regular bus which you can pick up to take you around. ||All in all our Hosts made this feel like a home and even though it was one night, it felt like we stayed with friends, and we would...

We spent four early June nights in Kyoto, and Kyo no Yado Sangen Ninensaka was our favorite place of the four we stayed in Japan. The view from the rooftop alone is worth staying here. Shuta and Haru were a highlight of our stay. They were both so friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations and assisting with booking taxis. Shuta and Yoshi made us fantastic Japanese breakfasts, making our mornings truly delightful.
This is the perfect spot to view the Yasaka Pagoda and enjoy peaceful walks in the early morning or around sunset after the crowds have left. One night around 8pm I even came upon a film crew shooting a scene there and they kindly let me pass through after a few minutes of waiting.
The location is also ideal for visiting Kiyomizu-dera, which is just a 15-minute walk away. We loved visiting early in the morning before the crowds arrived.
I had no idea how popular this area was and how conveniently close we would be—a mere 3-minute walk—from the historic Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka paths, filled with food and shopping options.
Perfect spot and I couldn’t...
