We sat in the regular chairs but she gave me a tour of the tatami area and we had a really nice chat . 🙏 Food was good . Location is not far from the Kinkaku-ji temple .

日本語口コミ下記に有り↓ 🇯🇵The main store is located in Shijyo. It’s a famous restaurant that serves us traditional buckwheat noodles as in “soba” of Kyoto, “udon”and rice ball. Also, “tempura” is very delicious. There are some private rooms on the 1st floor and also different type of private rooms on the 2nd where you need to take off your shoes. Soba noodles are rich in broth and noodles themselves are thinner which made me eat them easily. Moreover, my friend had “tempura” bound with boiled eggs on the rice ball. The boiled eggs on rice were soft, fluffy and glazing, have rich in broth which have a perfect combination of “tempura”. This restaurant is famous for Soba noodles and Udon noodles but I highly recommend you to have some “tempura” rice ball and grilled chicken rica ball bound with boiled eggs. It’s very close to the world heritage sites in Kyoto such as “Kinkakuji”, “Ryoanji”, “Ninnaji”. ちらの本店は四条にある。古くから京都にある老舗の蕎麦やうどん、丼ぶりを提供する名店である。天ぷらも美味しい。 靴を脱いで上がる個室も幾つかある。 蕎麦はだしが効いており、細麺で食べやすい。又私の友人は天ぷら卵丼を選んでいた。丼物の卵はふわふわで艶があり、だしが効いており天ぷらと非常に相性が良かったと言う。 蕎麦やうどんが人気の店だが、皆さんには、卵と組み合わされた天ぷら丼や焼き鳥丼も是非食べてみてほしい。 こちらは世界遺産の金閣寺や龍安寺や仁和寺に近い。

Service was a tad slow and we had to call for the waitress a few times before someone tended to us. Food wise we ordered the tenzaru (cold soba tempura), tentoji (hot soba tempura with egg), soba maki and herring side dish. English menu is available!

One of the most authentic experience we’ve had in Japan. We came in for lunch and were seated in one of the restaurants’ rooms, where we got to eat whilst sat on the ground. The quietness of the place and the warmth of the service greatly contributed to the good experience. Then the food arrived: I had the best cold noodles of the entire trip. Overall, we loved this place. We could have stayed for hours....

6600yen Nabe for one person was highly recommended but failed to impress, wasnt very happy with it (I am rarely harsh with comments, but overpaying for a so-so dish...).
