I would normally never do something like this, but the way I was treated here was absolutely uncalled for. I was walking around the neighbourhood, practically about to faint from how hot it was (37°C), and just asked to sit down and cool down for one second as I checked directions for where I could possibly head to next. I sat down for no more than 3 minutes, did not even use an outlet, go to the main seating area with tables, or ask for water.
He asked if I was going to order and I said that I wasn't hungry at the moment and because I didn't want to sit there without ordering something out of courtesy, I said I would get up and leave now. But he said no, I walked in so I had to order something. When I explained I was leaving, he said, and I quote "ok get out". I'm not sure if this was a language barrier where he didn't understand how rude his word choice was or if this was actually intentional. But the shooing hand gesture did not help his case. I would have fully understood if his word choice was along the lines of "kindly ask you to leave."
As a cafe blogger, I always try to look at the bright side when reviewing places and frame issues as points of improvement. I had saved this place on my map because I liked the aesthetic and thought it would be maybe worth going. But from using practically none of their resources besides a/c and a seat for less than 5 minutes when there was an excessive heat warning outside and risk to one's health while receiving such rude treatment, I feel that it was definitely out of line. Call me an uncultured tourist who might be used to getting iced water from Starbucks on a hot day, but when the area is full of tourists and I do not believe I was in any way bothersome, I feel disappointed and...
