We randomly looked for a place for dip ramen near the station, and boy, was I glad I found this. The wait (we were a party of four) was worth it. The fish broth was unlike any I've tasted. Literally every sip was packed with sophisticated layers of flavor. But even more of a highlight was the noodles. I'm not sure why it had a darker color than the usual yellow noodles. The texture was more than just chewy. And they know their noodles are out of this world: they even give you printed instructions (in Japanese and English) to try the noodles first, by themselves, without any sauce. There had already been a line of locals forming and we were part of the initial 8 or so. The experience was incredible as we were able to try the noodles in multiples ways. The noodles are thick, firm and chewy, and the broth is dense and very tasty.
There is apparently a hidden menu item that I did not get to try YET, called the Ebi Tsukemen and only very few are made each day.
I took the regular size tsukemen with the extra chashu and egg, and it was short of spectacular, reminding me almost of a porchetta.
Definitely recommend this place if you are going to explore the Fushimi...
