Komeda's Coffee Karasuma-Gojo — Restaurant in Kyoto

If you expect service in a reasonable amount of time, this is not the branch you want. This location prioritizes the reservations of hotel guests, so as a walk-in, even if you're second on the list, you may be sitting for upwards of an hour waiting before staff even acknowledges you're there. Once my guest and I were finally seated, we saw several people taking up space just using their laptops, so that's a loitering problem that could also use some improvement.

If you really like Komeda (I do, so I seek them out), there are many other branches in the city that get you seated and served in a timely manner. You'll likely spend less time in total walking a little further to get to one of those than...

I love Komeda's Coffee and this branch is one of the really nice ones on Kyoto. We had breakfast here most mornings as our hotel was nearby. They open early, serve the full menu n the morning, and do not forget to order the free "Nagoya breakfast" that comes with any hot drink orders before 11am. I have been to many coffee shops in Japan and apart from a few smaller independent ones, Komeda's is my favourite. It usually has relatively quiet comfortable seating, somewhere to charge your devices, a calm atmosphere and very friendly staff. The egg sandwiches are the best I have had. 1日目 山食パン（トースト）＋手作りたまごペースト＋バター🧈 ＋カフェラテにしました！

2日目 山食パン（トースト）＋コメダ特製おぐらあん＋バター🧈 ＋アメリカンにしました！

いつも山食パンにしちゃうけど（ほんとそのままで美味しいの！） 次こそはローブパンを試してみたい。と毎回思ってる気がするなぁ笑

コメダ珈琲店さんはパソコンの充電もできるので、 よくお世話になっています💻✨

This time, I stayed at Hotel Kyoto Base Shijo Karasuma, and the breakfast from Komeda Coffee was included❣️

☀️Breakfast☀️ Orders can be made from opening time until 11:00am every morning🍞 You can choose a drink, loaf bread or Yamashoku bread (toast), and one of the following for free: A. Standard boiled egg B. Homemade egg paste C. Komeda Coffee Ogura An🍞🩷

My choice was☝️

Day 1 Yamashoku bread (toast) + homemade egg paste + butter🧈 cafe latte!

Day 2 Yamashoku bread (toast) + Komeda's special Ogura An + butter🧈 American!

I always choose Yamashoku bread (it's really delicious just as it is!) Next time I want to try loaf bread. I feel like I think this every time lol

Komeda Coffee also has a place where you can charge your computer, so I use it a lot 💻✨

Komeda Coffee is a friend of the business man on the go, so thank you as always‼ ️
