It's a nice hotel, it has a metro nearby. The room we got was nice, very cozy and comfortable. The bed was a little hard for us but we were okay since we only spent 3 nights there. I loved the bathroom and I absolutely loved the amenities. The public bath is great, but you need to be wise choosing the moment you're want to go in, otherwise it's crowded since the baths are small and the hotel has many rooms. But I absolutely hate the fact you cannot go in if you have any tattoos, it's old fashioned, discriminatory and conservative. Tbh I would encourage everyone with tattoos to just go in anyway, really. There is no one to control that. We also tried the dining room, both for breakfast and for dinner. The quality of the food was better than in other more expensive hotels, but definitely overpriced for the variety they offer. It's okay if you don't have anywhere else to go, but you ain't missing much if you decide not to give it a try. The same goes for the restaurant at dining time, it's sort of an Italian restaurant but it's kinda weird since the recommended option is a shared meal with 4 plates, being pasta, pizza, salad and meat (it's a weird and more japanese way to serve an Italian dinner). The quality is also ok. Nothing super fancy. Overall it's a good hotel, a little expensive but for what they offer I'm fine with the price. I would...

Rubbish next to my bin not emptied, becuase your policy is to not touch it unless it's in a garbage bag to "avoid confusion"??? What's confusing about used and empty bottles for recycling put next to a general waste bin? Nothing is confusing about that. It's just lazy. It reflects an attitude of trying to deliberately get away with doing the bare minimum.
I would expect Kyoto of all places to take trash and reuse seriously. As other reviews have said, three weeks ago, your waste measures are not up to our expectations.
You could have implemented something by now.
So great, all that recycling now goes to land fill. Really really disappointing that this is your attitude to trash and house keeping.
Further the lobby laundry machines are under maintenance, leaving but 5 total washers for more than 10 stories of guest rooms. We're all unable to get laundry done. That's not a "we will fix it soon", that's an emergency call out to a technician to solve it same day.
Stop cutting corners on your service. Your facilities are great, you just need to do better maintaining and servicing them.
Finally, install double glazed windows already the fire department should not be so loud from the 9th floor. Ridiculous!
The price point is average but the service is below it. Not feeling the...
Read moreI love and hate this hotel for several reasons:
LOVE: Their wooden architect and interior design of the room. It feels very homey and matches the vibe of Kyoto well. The room is bright and well designed with the separation of the toilet and bathroom. Also loving how they provide skincare packs for ladies every night! The price per night in this hotel is very affordable which makes this place a great choice for budget saving!
HATE: Don’t expect anything from the public onsen. First I don’t like how it was located on the ground floor. That means I had to wear my gown to the lobby and walk to the onsen with a high possibility of other guests checking in and out. I felt very naked. The public onsen was tiny and too crowded to enjoy any single bit of it. The room cleaning needed to improve as complimentary items were often forgotten to be replaced. Also they moved my bathroom amenities around several times which wasn’t ideal at all. The location might not be convenient for most people including myself as it is situated in the middle of Shojo and Gojo. So I had to walk extra miles to get to my destinations. But given the price of this hotel, I think it’s okay.
Overall, I think this hotel is worth staying if you’re on a budget and want somewhere newly established. But I won’t return when I visit...
