I came here as a table of two and had somewhat high expectations after reading the reviews. Luckily, I didn’t have to wait for a table and was able to get one straight away, however, things went downhill after that. Firstly, it took ages for our order to be taken and once it was eventually taken, it took about 45 minutes for my food to come out. The restaurant wasn’t that busy but service was incredibly slow. I saw for two different tables where a chicken dish had come out yet they weren’t given any cutlery so no one could start eating yet. I also noticed that upon arrival, the waitress gives tap water and wipes but she forgot that for us. After the long 45 minute wait for food, our portion of Momo came out, however, the waitress didn’t give us any plates so we had to ask for those. The momo dumplings were very delicious, probably the nicest part of our meal so I would definitely recommend those. Some time later, our mutton curry, butter chicken and garlic naan came out. Also just to mention, they had run out of rice… but anyway , the curries and naan was decent. However, we had also ordered chilli chicken. I waited about 5 minutes to ask the chef where our chilli chicken was only for him to immediately say “one moment”. Anyway, we continued to eat our food at a slow pace , keeping in mind the curries are small portions. 20 minutes later we finished all our food and at this point it was unacceptable that our chilli chicken hadn’t come out yet, especially as I had already reminded the chef to which it seemed like he already knew it hadn’t been made yet. We get up to pay and leave only for one of the chefs to say the chilli chicken is coming but we’d already finished our food?? There were three tables who ordered after us and their food was coming out so why wasn’t our chilli chicken made yet?? Keep in mind by this point we had ordered our food well over an hour ago. It’s a bit annoying because I really wanted to try that dish but it was ridiculous that it still hadn’t even come out yet by the time we finished eating. We took it off the bill and then left. Overall, food was decent but service was so...
Read moreDuring our stay in Japan, we were fortunate enough to dine at an extraordinary Nepalese restaurant owned by our Airbnb hosts. From the moment we stepped inside, we were embraced by the delightful atmosphere complemented by fantastic music and the staff's infectious hospitality.
We indulged in an array of exquisite dishes that included succulent momos that burst with flavour, a butter chicken that was the perfect blend of creamy and spicy, and a chicken korma that was nothing short of divine. The honey cheese naan was a sweet and savoury revelation, while the garlic naan provided a classic touch of indulgence. The butter garlic rice was flawlessly prepared, offering a comforting richness to our meal. Additionally, the mango laksa was a vibrant and refreshing surprise, elevating our experience with its unique fusion of flavours.
The restaurant's location was ideal, making it a convenient and irresistible stop. It’s rare to find a place that combines such warm service, a convivial ambience, and culinary excellence. This gem of a spot has certainly left a lasting impression, serving some of the best food we’ve had in Japan. We look forward to returning and relishing the delightful...
Read moreWe followed our noses to this lovely little Indian spot between Shijo and the Gion District. The smells flowing from this place did not disappoint. Paired with the taste of the delicious food.
The taste is slightly on the sweeter/ mild side so if you like spicy don’t be afraid of the mild to spicy levels. I myself had the Normal level of spice (level 2 of 5).
We ordered the Chicken Momo to start. These little dumpling were chewy and filled with a delicious chicken meat ball. I love Dal so I ordered the Dal Curry. It did not disappoint. I don’t like bell peppers, but the flavors were so good. The slight bell pepper taste didn’t bother me like it usually does.
We also got two Raicha Set’s. There are plenty naan options for all tastes. The Tikka chicken is mild and well spiced with herbs. The curries we got were the chicken curry and butter chicken. Both were delicious no complaints to be heard! The set also comes with a small tasty salad.
Chai tea is made fresh so be patient it’s worth it. Their sake they offer is medium dryness slight floral sweetness but not too sweet for my...
