Good food. Can't find Chinese dumplings at just any restaurant in Kyoto. The wooden and stone interior is part of the appeal, along with the garden features centered around many of the rooms offering nice views. Unfortunately the room was cold in winter, and I wonder if there is any way to make it more comfortable. Additionally, they had a system of notifying staff when you wanted to order something using a QR scan code which I found inconvenient. I would much prefer to press a button that rang a bell in their kitchen. It was my second time here, and I'll go again, but probably not when it is cold. Additionally the staff were gracious enough to allow us to view and photograph pictures of the upstairs rooms and views into the lower, nearby garden. It’s a quiet, not crowded dining area. The food was delicious - there wasn’t one dish we didn’t like. We got the pork gyoza and soup dumplings, as well as other dishes.
