The team spoke excellent English and made us feel incredibly welcome. They guided us through the different knife styles, their uses, and the traditions behind them without overwhelming us. We ended up purchasing a beautiful sashimi knife that we’ll treasure for years.

We stumbled onto this place while wandering the side streets of Kyoto, and wow, what a find. From the outside you’d never guess what’s waiting upstairs. Inside, it feels more like an art gallery than a store… clean, simple, and completely focused on these gorgeous knives.

The staff were awesome, super friendly, spoke great English, and made us feel at home right away. They explained everything clearly without making it overwhelming (or sales-y). You could tell they really care about the craft.

We ended up picking out a knife that feels more like a souvenir we’ll actually use for years. It’s sharp, beautiful, and comes with a story.
