One of the best vegan food joints in Kyoto. Must try while you are here. I tried the dumpling plate and green tea here. The presentation of the dish was excellent and the veggies all fresh. I was surprised with the quality offered. These have to be one of the best vegan dumplings I have eaten so far in japan. The owner Tomo san is inviting and spoke good English as well. His Sous- chef is a jolly and lovely person and I certainly enjoyed the conversations with them. It’s not only the meal that’s good but the overall dining experience that they try to provide. It’s rather unusual in japan , to have good food and good conversations at the same place😅. The only things to improve I would say is making the approach road better or more visible. I found myself entering into wrong lanes while following google maps. It’s a narrow lane with a small board indicating the restaurant. The board can certainly made bigger and flashier and should make it easier to find this wonderful joint. Thank...
Read moreWe were looking for a vegan restaurant and this place caught our eye.We entered the restaurant greeted by 2 lovely people who were the nicest people I met in japan. The chef made great meals such as vegetable dumpling plate, fried soy ginger plate and the bolognese plate. We got served these and enjoyed the meal whilst speaking to the chefs. They talked about there life in Japan and taught us some Japanese. They asked us questions about are life which made are day pleasurable. We later on were in a struggle as it was raining. We asked them were we could get a umbrella from and they straight away offered us there own umbrella and gave us a fruit for free which shows how kind they are.The food and the serves made are day so much better and I had no way of expressing how thankful I am to them then writing a review so that other could have a similar experience that we enjoyed. No matter what, they will make sure you have...
Read moreThis was a very disappointing experience unfortunately. The food was very bland, and way too expensive for what it was (salad, rice, and a "main", though the main was hardly anything). I left feeling so hungry, even after paying more than JPY 2,000. It wasn't that tasty, not much flavour at all, I mainly tasted oil - there are definitely way better vegan options out there in Kyoto. Also, the 2 ladies working there on a Sunday made me feel quite uncomfortable, constantly asking me questions about myself that I did not want to answer. I think they were just trying to make conversation, but they couldn't register that I was uncomfortable. I had high expectations for this place, but unfortunately they were not met. So I wanted to give my experience here so they can improve on...
