Akabeko Higashihonmachi — Restaurant in Matsue

Went based on ratings and recommendations and want disappointed at all. Was very quiet at 6.10pm when I arrived, with myself and 2 other diners (Note: it holds a maximum of 13 at a time). If you are looking at the front of the building you will see a hallway with a door to the left and one at the end - it's the one at the end....

I was seated in the middle of the bar, right in front of the owner/manager and proceeded to have a meal for the ages. I ordered the 15 piece Nigiri set and it was terrific. Each piece was better than the last with the unagi and sea urchin roe the highlights.

While there was a definite language barrier, I spent the evening having a great time with the owner and other patrons laughing and drinking sake, as well as getting a chance to try Nottomaki on the house.

Highly recommend for the sushi alone while I'm sure the rest of the menu is...

I dropped out this restaurant when I visited sightseeing at Shimane prefecture. This restaurant is very quiet and carm place. Owner have some chatter with me because I visited here alone. I ordered nigiri shushi set, clam soup and local sake. All of foods were very tasty...
