Nestled within the tranquil town of Matsumoto's historic Asama Onsen, Asama Sabou is a charming teahouse that invites you to step back in time. Upon entering, you're enveloped in a warm and inviting atmosphere, reminiscent of a simpler era.

I couldn't resist ordering their signature fruit anmitsu, a delightful sight to behold. The first bite revealed a harmonious blend of the elegant sweetness of the anko (red bean paste) and the refreshing tartness of the fruits, evoking an involuntary smile.

Another captivating aspect of this teahouse is the heartwarming hospitality of the staff. Their meticulous attention to detail and genuine care for their customers contribute to the overall sense of comfort, making it a place you'll want to return to time and again.

The only downside is that Asama Sabou is only open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, which leaves you yearning for more during the rest...

Incredible cafe!

We found this cafe by accident while coming back from a hike in the Asamaonsen area. Staff was super nice and the interior and view was stunning 🙌

Prices are good and the desserts with fruit was great! I will recommend to anyone going near Asamaonsen and Matsumoto.

Ps. Original Asamaonsen Ice Coffee is a must try!...

昔ながらの温泉ホテルが多い普通車一台分の道にあるとてもおしゃれな喫茶店。場所が離れていても、駐車場がいくつかあって助かりました。停めたいな、と思った場所が空いていなくともぐるっと道を回れば駐車場がちらほらと。

営業日はインスタで確認が確実です。

無事にお店に入れたら、とにかくクオリティに驚かされます。 アイスコーヒーが茶器にロックアイスで、土瓶２杯分。あんみつとセットにしたアイスコーヒーがこのサービスで提供していただけます。 溶けにくいロックアイスのおかげでコーヒーが薄まらず、そのまま飲んでも美味しいコーヒーを途中からシロップを入れて楽しみました。

あんみつにもほうじ茶が付いていますが「あら？こっちにも飲み物がつくならドリンクいらなかったわ」などどケチくさいこと言わずにドリンクセットにしましょう。 こんな優雅に美味しくいただけるアイスコーヒーがあのお値段なんて震えます。 いいんですか……
