食堂 めしや — Restaurant in Matsuyama

This was a great find! The little restaurant only seats 10-12 people and it’s not quick so you might want to make a reservation. The master is very talented with the flavors and the balance was spot-on. I had the hambagu lunch set and it was excellent with all the sides (miso, rice, salad) also being great. Even the rice is cooked on the stove and not in a rice cooker which was a nice change.

My lunch mates all had the fish and said that was great too. Their only complaint was that the portion was too large! I think most people will be fine though...my hambagu set was easily devoured.

The sets are ¥1500 and while on the steeper side, it was well worth it as the quality, flavors and portions all warranted the premium price.

If you can get a seat, are not in a rush and feeling a bit rich, I highly recommend Meshiya. Also say hello to...

2025.06 連れとタイミングが合わず久しぶりにお伺いさせて頂いた。 大変な人気である。

丁寧なお仕事で魚が見事であった。 毎回｢レベルの高さ｣に大満足である。

開店11時前から行列であった。 口コミが海外まで広がり人気のためである。

自分も1ヶ月前から予約。

オーナー様が「お断りしなければいけないことが増えて申し訳ない」と。 ゆえに予約は必須である。

2024.01 鯖の焼き魚「過去一絶品」であった。 魚にうるさい連れも「これほどの味は初めてだ」と感動。 今年も素晴らしい味の提供は間違いない。 予約は必須である。

2023.12 今年は大変美味しく優しい時間を頂いたこと。また友人知人全員に絶賛を頂けたこと全てオーナー様に感謝である。 本年は本日12月27日にてお休みである。 来年も楽しみである。

2023.12 久しぶりに訪問。 いつも以上に旨かった。 多忙のご様子である。 やはり前もって確認と予約がお勧めである。

2023.10 手の込んだ副菜。 メインに花を添える驚きの旨さである。 毎回感じるがオーナー様が素晴らしいからなのか客層の良さを感じる。 インフルエンザが流行っているがオーナー様も御客様も「きちんとされた対応」ゆえに美味しく安心な時間が過ごせる。

2023.09 久しぶりに訪問させて頂いた。 やはり人気店である。 予約で完売であった。

お魚が他店にはない大きさのものをオーナー様が丁寧な下ごしらえで絶品へと変わる。

やはり予約が間違いない。

2023.07 接待で利用させて頂いた。 ハンバーグはソースまで。 お魚は煮汁まで。 「美味しい」と全て完食されていた。 「このお値段では安すぎる」と大変喜んで頂けた。 やはり信頼の出来る素晴らしいお店である。

2023.07 雨でも予約でいっぱいである、 旨い。そして身体が整う。

2023.05 県外からの友人帰省。 「めしやさんに行きたい」とのことで行かせて頂いた。 「素晴らしく美味しい」 そう間違いない美味しさである。

最近は11時開店12時には売り切れもある。 予め予約はお勧めである。

2023.05 いつもながら旨い。 しかし『予約』がお勧めである。

「和尚のポン酢」個人的に激旨 であった。

2023.04 最近では週1でお伺いさせて頂いている。 料理は全て完璧だが料理以上に店長様との対応で学ぶことも多い。 大変自分の価値を人生を豊かにして下さる場所である。

After visiting a nearby temple, I randomly walked into this spot, and it turned out to be an absolute gem. I had the simmered Spanish mackerel set meal, and the delicate, deeply flavorful taste completely won me over. Even though the owner was running the place solo and clearly busy, the service was warm and attentive. Everything felt intentional and thoughtful, which made me feel really taken care of as a guest. There are only two items on the menu, but the focus and care put into them is seriously impressive. Honestly, I can’t recommend this...
