天の橋立 松吟 — Restaurant in Miyazu

Stumbled onto this nice restaurant with a view of the canal. We orders a Kaisei don and a shabu shabu with some fresh fish which could eaten raw or cook in the soup. As we are rushing for time, we had to check with the staff a few times. The staff (a young man) was helpful and attentive and managed to serve our food with enough time for us to eat. The wait was worth it as the seafood are fresh and the vegetable broth is light and delicious. If only we are in a rush, we would have enjoy the food better. Definitely will come back...

Not many restaurants were open along this stretch at 2pm on a Wed. The ramen/soba restaurant ahead was crowded so we decided to try this and was so pleasantly surprised. Food was on the saltier side, but it's so homey and delicious. Recommended the fried tempera set ( not shown), we could taste that the prawn tempera is fried with fresh prawn, the taste was very different from the usual tempura prawn you find elsewhere, so...

We were served by a lovely lady who able to speak Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese and English. I got the clam and egg udon and it was a deliciously warm meal (we went on a rainy day). There was also no queue which was a plus point for us since we had limited time here coming with a tour group. If sit by the windows, you will also be able to get a nice view...
