Mamaya — Restaurant in Miyazu

I was so happy to visit this restaurant on 6-Apr-2023. Their omakase obanzai dinner is the most delicious food I had in Japan so far. I didn't know the name of each dish but they were all new to me and tasted very good. I emptied all bowls. 😋😋😋 The restaurant atmosphere was very good and the patrons were like their closed friends. Many thanks to the friendly chef & her assistants for accepting my reservation. We communicated with the help of their FB manager, Google Translate & Japanese-English translating device and so happy that we could understand each other.😅 I was lucky to decide choosing this very nice restaurant for my only dinner in Amanohashidate. If I have opportunity to visit this town again, definitely I will visit this nice & friendly restaurant again. ごちそうさまでした。...

I just the most absolutely amazing dinner here. I have been living in Japan for 3 years, and this was easily the best meal I’ve eaten since arriving in Japan.

We phoned up this afternoon to make a reservation for tonight, and they said that usually you have to book at least a day in advance but they’d make a place for us tonight anyway.

We arrived not really knowing exactly what to expect. It ended up being a 3 course meal, but even with some alcoholic drinks, it was still far cheaper than expected. I would’ve happily paid more for the quality of food and drink, and the astounding service from the owners. They were absolutely lovely and we had a great chat after the meal.

The obanzai was delicious! I made a reservation on the phone the same day, and even though my Japanese is quite poor, the woman on the phone was kind and patient.

There was a lot more food than I realized, and I wasn’t able to finish my meal, so I asked to skip the last dish. When the bill came, I saw they had offered me a small discount even though I had offered to pay in full. Very kind people and wonderful food, can...
