Kobeya Kitchen — Restaurant in Nagano

I had a very unpleasant experience here today. The young woman with a black ponytail at the counter was extremely rude to me for no reason. She gave me a cold face from start to finish and behaved very unfriendly.

When I asked for a straw for my iced coffee, she refused and pointed at the cup, as if telling me I should drink directly from it and didn’t need a straw. This was very rude and dismissive. I could clearly see many straws available behind her. Only after I asked again did she reluctantly give me one.

This is the first time in Japan I have experienced such unprofessional and unfriendly service. It was shocking and very disappointing.

I hope the management reads this and understands: this kind of behavior is unacceptable. Customers should not have to face...

This is a very expensive bakery in Nagano city, and although it is about the same price as Ginza in Tokyo, the bread is certainly delicious. However, it is expensive and the coffee is terrible! This place was great! I stopped here multiple times during my time in Nagano.

The food is delicious. Some of the best pastry around. I enjoyed croissants, apple and sweet potato tarts, hot dogs and other things, and all tasted great and were well priced. Would easily recommend the food here to everyone.

I didn't try the drinks/coffee at all, so can't comment there.
