If you’re in Nagano and looking for the best steak experience, this is the place to go! I ordered the Shinshu Lump Steak, and it was exceptionally tender, flavorful, and perfectly grilled to enhance the natural umami of the meat. The seasoning of just salt and pepper was more than enough to bring out the full taste of the premium Shinshu Wagyu.
To elevate the experience, I paired it with the Goichi Wine (Shinshu Merlot)—and it was a perfect match! 🍷✨ The wine’s rich aroma and deep yet smooth taste enhanced the steak’s natural sweetness and juiciness. Compared to other wines, this local Merlot truly complemented the flavors of the Shinshu Wagyu.
The side dishes were also impressive, with fresh salad and a well-balanced dressing. The bread was another highlight—beautifully baked with a slight fermentation aroma, giving it an amazing texture and depth of flavor.

After a day out to visit the Snow Mountain Monkeys and taking the train back to Nagano station, we decided to settle down for dinner. We have read that the Shinshu beef is popular so came to this restaurant to try out.
Service & Ambience [3]. We are asked to write our name to join the queue. After waiting for a while, our turn arrived. We were escorted to sit on the bar counter as all tables are taken. The place is narrow. The service is okay but nothing special.
Food [3] Ok it’s unfair to say the food is 3 but is above average but still not above 4. The beef we ordered is 200g and pork is 140g and judging from the portion, they are definitely not a lot. Read more長野駅を構成する駅の商業施設『MIDORI長野』の3階のレストラン街にあるレストランの一つで、信州産の牛肉や豚肉をふんだんに活用した肉料理を堪能できるレストランです。店の構成は、典型的な商業施設内のレストラン街のレストランそのもので、通路とレストランの境界は簡易的な柵しかなく、レストランの様子もよく見え、また肉料理の香ばしい香りも通路に漂い、食欲をそそります。一方で店内はやや暗めの照明に設定しているからか、賑やかながらも落ち着いた雰囲気を醸し出しています。バルとしての側面もあるためお酒の種類も豊富で、肉料理に合わせるために特にワインの種類が多いです。それもあってか、長野を訪れる外国人観光客の姿をよく見かけます。 給仕される肉料理の基本的な焼き方はミディアムレアで、表面はカリッとした食感を保つための焦げ目を付けつつも、肉そのものは柔らかく舌触りも滑らかに仕上がっています。肉の部位によってやや噛み切りにくく脂っこい箇所があることに注意が必要ですが、塩気も程よく、最後まで美味しくいただけると思います。 レストラン街の中でも人気のお店であるため、スタッフは常にてんてこ舞いのように見受けられますが、特段失礼な対応はされませんでした。前述の通り外国人観光客の利用も多いため、英語での対応も特に問題ないように見受けられました。

The restaurant is typical of those you would find in a shopping mall, with only a simple fence separating the restaurant from the walkway, so you can see in clearly and the delicious aroma of the meat wafts through the walkway, whetting your appetite. On the other hand, the interior is set to a slightly dim lighting, which creates a lively yet relaxed atmosphere. As it also has a bar aspect, there is a wide variety of drinks, and there is a particularly large selection of wine to go with the meat dishes. Perhaps because of this, you often see foreign tourists visiting Nagano. The basic way to grill the meat served is medium rare, and while the surface is seared to maintain a crispy texture, the meat itself is tender and smooth. You should be aware that some parts of the meat are a little tough to bite through and a little greasy, but the saltiness is just right and you can enjoy it to the very last bite.
