As other reviews say, a charming retro cafe with a lovely and welcoming lady who runs the cafe. We got the coffee, salad and toast set for 550 yen as seen in the photo. The cafe focuses primarily on coffee and has several origin and blend varieties on offer. The coffee is brewed via drip method and was excellent. Food is in the variety of cakes, toast or salad. The toast was done to perfection and was delicious with butter. I wish I had more time in Nagano to come back and try the cakes. We spoke with a Japanese customer who was just as welcoming as the lady who ran the store. He provided some recommendations on exploring the surrounding Matsumoto area. Information for foreigners to help: google translate is your friend and if you can speak a little Japanese it will go along way to help with ordering. Menus are in Japanese. The owner is very patient so if you are a patient and polite tourist I suggest you visit this cafe

The lovely owner welcomed us with warmth, and with a mix of broken Japanese and Google Translate, we managed to enjoy a truly special moment over a perfectly brewed cup of coffee and the most delicious cinnamon toast drizzled with honey. The decor feels like a nostalgic journey back to the 1940s, creating a cozy, timeless atmosphere. Soft classical music plays in the background, adding to the serene and almost meditative ambiance. A true hidden treasure—don’t miss it if you’re in Nagano!

What a wonderful cute place! We visited this cafe for coffee before heading to the Monkey Park and ordered drip coffee and a blueberry cheesecake. The quality was very good! The lady running the shop is patient with foreigners and her shop really looks like you stepped into a Ghibli world. If you want a cozy, relaxing way to start the day, definitely give it a try :)
