BELLBEE — Restaurant in Nagoya

Getting to this place was a bit of an adventure. The restaurant is buried in the back of some slightly dodgy looking building, you see a discreet sign at the front where all the shops and offices housed in said dodgy building are advertised, then walked down a long corridor, and seriously wondered whether I'd gotten the directions from Google wrong again. Turned left, then left again, and was rewarded for my persistence after thinking "okay, guess I'm not finding this place after all...." Amazing beef sandwich - they call it the "Meatbox" - comes in 150g and 300g. To be on the conservative side, I ordered the 150g one. Next time, I'm going 300g. The beef was cooked to perfection, although some people might be a bit squeamish because the beef isn't thoroughly cooked, but for healthy carnivores, this sure does scratch the itch! Had the homemade lemonade - it would have paired better with the meat sandwich if they had added some fresh lemon juice but anyway, that's just a personal preference. Service was nice, if a bit tentative - first time I hear someone sounding very worried if I speak English. Some conversation starter poster pieces featuring Disney doing anything BUT Disney, and they had a cool mural on the wall. Fun little place and will...

This shop offers some of the best sandwiches in Nagoya. They have a good handle on the size and flavor profile of each of their products. Along with offering a variety of dishes that are rare and hard to find anywhere else in Nagoya. These guys are doing things that many other sandwich shops fail to offer.

栄の加地ビル1Fにある「BELLBEE」は、サンドイッチ好きにはたまらない隠れ家的スポット。まずは、ビーフサンドを注文しましたが、これが大正解。 厚切りのパンに挟まれたジューシーな牛肉は、ハーブの香りがふわっと広がり、ひと口ごとに満足感があります。見た目も美しく、紙に包まれて提供されるスタイルもおしゃれ。

店内はカフェとバーの中間のような雰囲気で、昼はランチ、夜は軽く一杯にも使えそう。 価格帯は1,000〜2,000円ほどで、クオリティを考えるとコスパも良好です。

次は、スモークサーモンとクリームチーズをたっぷり使ったサンドイッチ。 バゲット風のパンに、ディルや赤玉ねぎ、レタスが彩りよく挟まれていて、見た目にも美しい一品です。 スモークサーモンサンドは、まさに大人の贅沢ランチ。 香り高いディルと濃厚なクリームチーズが、スモークサーモンの旨みを引き立てていて、ひと口ごとに幸せを感じます。 赤玉ねぎのシャキッとした食感とレタスのフレッシュさも絶妙なバランス。

紙に包まれて提供されるスタイルもおしゃれで、カフェというより“サンドイッチ専門のバー”といった雰囲気。

その次は、BLTサンドイッチ! ベーコン・エッグ・レタスをたっぷり挟んだボリューム満点の一品。 黒胡椒が効いた卵とカリッと焼かれたベーコンの香ばしさが絶妙で、シャキシャキのレタスが全体をさっぱりとまとめています。 見た目も美しく、紙に包まれて提供されるスタイルが「BELLBEE」らしいおしゃれさを演出しています。

ベーコンエッグサンドは、朝食にもランチにもぴったりな満足感のある一皿。 パンは外はカリッと、中はふんわりで、具材との相性も抜群。 黒胡椒のアクセントが効いていて、シンプルながら飽きのこない味わいです。

店内は落ち着いた雰囲気で、ひとりでも気軽に立ち寄れるのが魅力。
