Cafe TOLAND — Restaurant in Nagoya

Cafe Toland is a very fashionable cafe with delicious meals, desserts, and drinks.

The cafe is located on the sixth floor of a business building near Kamimaezu Station. The inside of the cafe is well-decorated with an array of seating and unique lighting displayed throughout. They recently added their brand signature to their seating and dishes.

Once you sit down, there is a QR code you scan giving you access to the menu. There are some dishes like lunch dishes and curry dishes, as well as many scrumptious desserts and a host of drinks to suit everyone's tastes.

On this visit, I ordered an iced cafe latte and an orange chocolate paffle. The iced cafe latte is a decent drink; not amazing but refreshing and reliable. The orange chocolate paffle was incredible. The presentation was fun, and the taste was decadent.

The staff are incredibly kind and helpful.

A couple final notes: there is no WiFi or outlets. This cafe is focused on the dining experience more so than operating as a place for people to work. You can pay by cash or card.

Adorable cafe. We stopped by for late afternoon cake and coffee. The staff were extremely friendly and spoke excellent English.

The space is very large and spacious with a mixture of traditional tables and chairs and lounge seating.

The puffy bubble waffle with bananas was delicious. The chef also brought out a sample of their upcoming Christmas limited menu and the chocolate brownie was delicious.

I came because I read somewhere that this cafe was one of the more modern ones in the city. But, I was disappointed. The industrial look seemed empty and distant. Different pieces of furniture and color palette did not work for me. They felt hastily put together. I thought this was a coffee shop but their coffee selection is limited to only three basic options. The menu seems to focus heavily on pastry and food.
