Konparu Osu — Restaurant in Nagoya

The shopping street appeared deserted, but upon stepping into this restaurant, I was amazed to find it bustling with mainly locals! For me, seeing locals dine at a place is a strong indicator of its quality. We were lucky to secure the last table for two at around 9:10 am on a Sunday.

We went for their Nagoya specialty - the fried shrimp sandwich priced at ¥1,100 (consisting of 3 pieces of crispy fried shrimp and a fluffy egg nestled between toasted bread with a double sauce of cutlet sauce and tartar sauce), and their morning set sandwich with ham and a sunny side up egg on toast.

The shrimp sandwich, their specialty, stood out with its crunchy freshness and ample sauce that kept the cabbage from being too dry. The morning service sandwich was equally delightful, offering simple yet comforting flavors.

It is a very traditional popular local Cafe for decades. Not the type of hand dripping or fancy latte arts… but a simple cup of black coffee … hot or on ice.
