Maguro Center — Restaurant in Nagoya

My wife and I are currently visiting Japan and we stumbled upon this restaurant purely by chance as we were staying in a hotel in the next street. The Sakae area of Nagoya has many restaurants but we wanted to simply walk to a nearby restaurant as we’d had a full day’s exhausting sightseeing. Oh boy, were we in for a Tuna fest. We are an Italian couple on our honeymoon and we had dinner at maguro center last night, it was the best dinner in Japan! They offer the chance to try rare tuna cuts at affordable prices and the quality of the cuts is excellent. 鮪の中落ちをスプーンを使って自分ですき身にして頂くことができる珍しいお店。

場所は栄３丁目、本町通り。 住吉の１本西側の通りにあります。 照明が明るく、すぐに発見できるお店です。 店舗前にはまぐろの大きなオブジェ。インスタ映え狙いですかね。

通りに面した場所にソファ席があります。 あとは奥へ進んで奥行きのある店内が広がっています。 カウンター席が少しとテーブル席がたくさんあります。 店内はデザイナーズ風で若向きです。

ビールで乾杯、お通しを頂いたところに「１本まるごと鮪の骨付き中落」が到着しました。

デカっ！！

全長１メートル近くありそうな大きな鮪の胴体が運ばれて来ました。スノコの上にうぐいす紙が敷かれ、その上に鮪の骨がのっています。ハーフもあるので、それでも良かったのですが、せっかくならばとフルサイズをお願いしたことに少し後悔 (笑) とは言っても、骨に付いてる身だけだからイケるっしょ？と余裕をかましていると…。 周りの方々を見ると、フルサイズはほとんど大人数の方々、少人数の方々はハーフを食べていらっしゃいます。

スプーンと山盛りのわさびを頂いて、戦闘開始てす！ 骨と骨の間の身を削ぐのはなんだかとても快感。 とてもキレイに簡単に身が取れます。 そして、とても美味しい！ 場所によって食感、味が違います。 ごはんを左手に持って食べたくなります。 見た目以上に身が取れます。
