Here's the thing. I'm a nice guy. I'm willing to understand and put up with A LOT, believe me. But what I will not stand for is being lured into a place whose operation uses every loophole to get your yen out of you as a foreigner. I will NOT be told I am incorrect, because I sat there and watched as my wife was lured into choosing a less than decent quality hot pot place over the one we were on our way to go to. I will not sit by as some person fakes a call to a place that is literally within walking distance. I am NICE. NOT DUMB. I pray that you learn to treat foreigners more decently. I refuse to charge at least 1,000 yen for each water I am given. I REFUSE to be charged over 1,000 yen for not ordering more than two appetizers, that are not especially appetizing. Especially since the Hot Pot was indescribably disgusting. Lack of taste and meat. Not at all what is pictured, especially for the 1,468 yen (per person) charge: 10 pieces max? And the rest was bean sprouts? I am aware that it is typical for Hot Pot places to charge per person. That is not what I am mad about . I also know that it is typical that you have to have a reservation. That is not what I am mad about. I also know that no one has charged a seating fee, and that we were strong armed into going here. We were also strong armed into paying a fee for not ordering more. I won't order more if your food sucked. Do you understand? I don't want to hear complaints. I want it fixed. Clearly the operator does not know, or is telling these workers to do it. I only care that this place is exploiting the laws, that Japan needs to fix. And clearly your attitudes towards foreigners need fixing too. You will not be getting any more money from me, and I hope foreigners beware and read before falling for...
Read moreThis place was an absolute scam and I am disgusted that our first experience at a Japanese restaurant was at this disgraceful place. We were looking for a different hot pot restaurant and someone pretended to help us. Having been on my feet all day and very tired, I let my guard down at the wrong time. At this point I didn't mind going somewhere else so long as I got to sit and eat. The place looked nice enough but service took forever. We ordered hot pot and edamame and we were charged 10,000 yen. We were charged 1000 yen each for an appetizer we did not order, almost 1000 yen for water, a table fee, and a late night fee @ 7 p.m. When we asked questions about these unannounced charges the waiter was incredibly rude to us and insistent that we pay immediately. We let the ladies in front of us go and their bill was half the price (and they had ordered way more). We finally decided to pay it and be done with it. I have traveled the world and never been scammed like this. Shame on this...
Read moreThis place is a complete SCAM!!!!!!! Avoid at all cost!!!!! I will report this place to the police!!!!! For two drinks, one appetizer and one dish, they charged us $10000 yen! First a promoter lures you in and tells you the table charge is $300 yen, then they tell you that you have to order 2 dishes and 2 drinks per person to sit there after you already ordered. If you don’t follow those rules they will add another 480 yen per person. We decided not to order more and when we got our bill they had an entrance fee of $1000 yen per person that they never mentioned!!!! This total should have added to $3000 yen for what we ordered. Even if we had accepted the extra $1000 yen entrance fee…it should have totaled up to $5000. Instead they charged us $10000 for I don’t know what!! These people are criminals!!!!!!! I will report them because I know Japan does not...
