Sakichi — Restaurant in Nagoya

Looked up who had an open seat last minute on a Friday evening and they showed up. Walked down from a nearby hotel and got seated right away. The female server brought over an English menu, but I used Google lens to translate the regular menu anyway. I wish I could have been able to eat more because every dish I ordered was amazing. Their selection of meats looked great, and I think I tried half the menu. The wagyu was perfect, and the yukke (although the only time I have ever heard of that and tried it) was very tasty.y final dish I had asked the server to choose for me and she did not disappoint. I can't say much about the price, but after 5 or 6 beef dishes, fried rice, 4 colas, and a side order of bean sprouts, the bill was ~11k yen. I feel it was 100% worth that,...

Fairly unassuming from the outside, I actually passed it once before looking up for a good restaurant and seeing the review.

It was my first yakiniku and first time trying Wagyu beef. The staff was very helpful and did their best to answer my questions in English.

I was on my own and towards the very beginning of the service, hence I can't judge the ambiance fairly.

But if I have one regret, it's that I couldn't order more. The food was delicious, best beef I ever tasted - even with me not being familiar with the cuts or the grill.

Definitely a restaurant to make a detour for - preferably as a group to share and try as many cuts...
