We had been to branch in Tokyo years ago and it was a good experience that time. So we want to try the nagoya branch on 12.1.2024 as we finally could revisit japan after years of covid. We got a really bad experience with the staff Miss Nakamura who was being the receptionist. We took a number outside the store at 19:04 and it was 137. There were 12 numbers ahead us, so we just walked away for a moment as there were no free seats outside the store at that time. After 20 minutes, we came back and found that there were still 6 numbers ahead us and my friend said she went to toilet first. After 1-2 minute, Miss Nakamura showed up and called 131, 132, 134 and no. 134 showed up with 3 people sitting near the escalator and Miss Nakamura was not so happy already as people were not sitting in front of the store. After a moment, Miss Nakamura showed up again and called 134, 135, 136, 137 (Actually I was the only person still waiting outside), and I presented the no. 137 to her. She said you were 2, where was the other one. I said she had been to the toilet. Then Miss Nakamura started becoming angry and said she should show up now and pointing at the ticket saying you should all be presented when entering the store. I said then I just waited outside until my friend came back from toilet as the ticket also showing a phase that the waiting number would be cancelled after calling the number after 30 minutes. But Miss Nakamura became ridiculously angry and repeated saying 2 of you should be here NOW! I said then I waited here, but she was really very angry and repeatedly saying all of you should be here NOW! NOW! I really don’t know what she has been going through that day and asked her why are you so angry? Actually I had no intention to go inside the store on my own. My friend finally came back from toilet after Miss Nakamura shouting at me for 30 seconds. Then Miss Nakamura asked she was the other one? My friend said yes and Miss Nakamura was still in a very bad mood and took us inside the store.
We ordered some sushi and they were good and the price was quite competitive. We finished all of then after 1 hour. And I find that Miss Nakamura finally restored her temper inside the store.
I just want to say my experience with this store. You should be very careful if you see Ms Nakamura as she would be suddenly very impolite and angry with you even if you are the only customer who is waiting. Quite a disappointing...
Read moreWe went here because the reviews were high on Google. However, we wish we hadn't. When we first arrived, there was a small wait list, maybe around 10 parties before us. We got a ticket and thought we may wait around 30 mins or so as the restaurant is quite big. The wait sign on the restaurant said 30-45 minutes as well. However the wait was over two hours. The most frustrating thing is that over half of the seats were empty, and they told us it was reserved. In the two hours of wait plus the time we were seated, no one got seated at the reserved seats so I'm not sure why they were reserved for so long.
When your number is called, you have to immediately tell them you are there with all members of your party present or they will skip you over to the next people in line. They did not even call the number more than once. It is very frustrating to lose your spot after 2 hours wait. We witnessed many parties express extreme frustration due to this.
After the long wait, we expected the food to be amazing. However, the prices were high and the food was nothing special. It was a very...
Read moreFantastic Sushi for very reasonable prices. Can be a bit of a wait during evening hours, you'll have to draw a ticket from the machine in front of the store and wait until your number gets called out. Be careful here and don't go on prolonged walks around the area as your ticket number might be called out sooner than you expect. If you're not present while your number is being called out, they'll skip to the next customer. For this reason I'd recommend you understand at least some Japanese, as they'll call the numbers out in Japanese and most staff don't speak English from what I've heard around me while in the restaurant. While ordering you should be okay even if you don't speak Japanese, the popular items on the menu have a lot of pictures, but I think the staff will make an effort to understand what you want if you try and order in English. They might have an English menu, but I wouldn't bet on it.
All in all the best Sushi I've had for the price in Nagoya. Definitely recommend everyone going there, and I...
