Amendment (2023.11.25) The burgers haven't change in their exceptional quality or quantity. However, two years ago I hadn't tried many of their side dishes. That has been rectified. And unfortunately the recommendation is to not order side dishes. None of them. The potatoes are half wedges that just seem to lack enough flavor to be interesting. The mash potato is even worse and is just plain old boring. The onion rings are obviously carefully prepared and then destroyed at the end by being oily. And the finally the coleslaw is... well... nothing but a disaster. Stick with the basics. A burger and a beer.

Original (2021.08.02) Let's get to the point. This is one of the best burger joints in Nagoya. It is also one of the best in Japan, and I'm going with the world. It's in my top 10 list of go to burgers. I have been coming to this shop on and off for just on a decade. For some reason, just never got around to writing a review. And a little embarrassed to say, that I have lived within a 3 minute walk for the last 4 years. Today (2 Aug, 2021) I once again, wondered on over to see if there was a queue. There wasn't, which was a surprising considering it was 12:10PM on a Monday. Usually there's a bit of a wait. Side note: On weekends there is a line before lunch opening.

This month's (August 2021) lunch special burger has a topping of miso infused beef, Coriander (cilantro for the US folks) and sour cream. That's on top of the regular burger. A delectable combination. I added the sliced pickles under the patty, on top of the tomato slice, and it was absolute perfection. Beware, this is a juicy burger. You will need to use the burger wrap paper and be careful not to drip the sauce...

In the pizza world, a simple slice of cheese is a good gauge on the quality of the pizza at a particular establishment. Because no matter how many toppings or how creative, if their cheese slice isn’t good, then no other variation matters.

I have the same philosophy with burgers. So, I ordered a plain cheeseburger. I also asked for mayo and pickles on the side just in case. It was very good. As a matter of fact, the burger is quite wet and fatty, so I am glad the mayo was on the side as it didn’t need any. The “fatty” was not so much from the beef patty itself, but it seems they cooked it and/or doused it with butter…which is fine. However, I would’ve like it better if they took it a little easier. The beef itself is tasty and the bun has a nice texture.

The “fries” are quartered fried potatoes. Nevertheless, they were good too.

The atmosphere is unpretentious and the service is fast and friendly.

If you’re wanting to take a break from Asian food, you would not be disappointed to...

I went here for lunch with friends a few months ago. I saw that it had lots of 5 star reviews and was regarded as one of the best burger places in Nagoya….and after eating there myself I have to agree.

I ordered their most popular hamburger and fries set and it was overall really delicious. The burger was large and full of flavour, the chips were roasted nicely but still soft and the additional salad and cheese sauce were very nice too.

It’s slightly more expensive than most other burger restaurants but the additional cost is worth it.

One tip, they ask for payment in advance and only accept card so be sure to carry a credit or debit card.
