I admire and support small local businesses and I don’t want to leave this review. I truly hope they will take the advice as I believe it could definitely help them. It was very painful to watch.
We waited 40 minutes for 2 curry and drinks, ate everything in 10 mins and left. Another table of customers came just right before us were still waiting for their order when we departed. The cafe was not full at all.
While waiting we witnessed how this cafe operation is poorly organised. If you are short staffed, be smart on the operation and not to waste time achieving absolute zero sales on back and forth walking around, not to mention going to the back every 3 minutes to grab something for cooking. Restaurant 101: never make a return trip empty handed! If you need to go here and there just to make one dish, there is something wrong with your kitchen set up!
Menu, cups, water, tissue could have just placed in a public area/centre of table instead of each item serving by the waitress. Make a sign that indicates it will take 40 mins/ sit wherever you want etc. Make customers come to counter to order and collect food etc.
The interior is dark and messy, they have windows but blocking the view with miscellaneous items and crooked curtains etc. It’s a mess and you don’t know where to look at so you can only look at the staff buzzing around for absolutely nothing. All the shelves with miscellaneous items plus the home made jars on the floor needs to be reorganised, they look absolutely chaotic. I have difficulty to find this place comfortable to sit and rest. It just looks so bad.
The food is beautifully served, but it gets cold quickly because of how detailed they set the dish on a flat plate instead of serving them in a bowl so it will keep warm. It tastes normal. The waitress can only serve one dish per trip due to the large flat plate, so if you are table of four, she will at least go to your table minimum 7 times just to complete one table of sales.
The way they operate is losing customers. I believe there is nothing wrong with the menu and food. I feel very bad for the waitress who was busy buzzing around and it should have be managed better than that. This cafe needs to be clean up.
If I have time to kill I would not be coming here because I don’t think there is nice place to rest/ somewhere you can look at nicely. I feel sorry for this cafe and I hope they can fix this and bring the business...
Read moreIt's okay, had the special curry but it's missing some salad. For the price it is not worth it. The desserts were okay, they didn't have the mont blanc. I wouldn't have got the rare mango cheesecake which was mushy texture. The beni imo tart was nice. Coffee was bitter and tasted bad. It was not bitter from the coffee but the spices. The tea was nice. The meal costed 4900 yen which I thought was overpriced. I went because of the good reviews. This is not one of the best experiences I had in Japan and for that price which it didn't even fill us up....
Read moreThe fragrance of curry and roasted coffee, calm jazz music, and a cool wooden interior all set the tone for a lovely experience. The curry is unlike any Japanese (or otherwise) curries I have tried; not sweet, just rich and complex. You'll be happy they include that little slice of bread so you can mop it all up. The coffee was bold, satisfying, yet refined, and paired excellently with the pie. This place made us quite happy on...
