A big place with a lot of heart, I wholeheartedly enjoy this place when I'm stopping through Narita for a few days. Located right by Narita Station, Hakatagekijou pumps out some really tasty offerings in a wonderfully fun & vibrant Izakaya.
The Gyoza here are the most popular offering, landing on your table in a sizzling-hot skillet. Order up & order big because it's pretty safe to say that once you've cleared half the skillet, you'll easily go back for another round. The Yakatori here are excellent, as are their hot dishes; their hot-pot seemingly bottomless.

I’ve tasted better food in Wagamamas in the UK disappointing to say we have come to Japan. Then we were forced to pay for appetiser as when you order a drink it comes with it? This was our first izakaya experience and we were very glad to have tried it... the food was delicious (and having an English menu really helped), and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. The gyoza skillet was a sight to behold, as were the giant highballs (whiskey + soda). I loved the appetizers as well. Food came out quick and delicious... a huge thanks to the chefs and waitstaff for making our night.
The table fee caught me by surprise, but someone else in my party explained how it worked. Would've been nice to know beforehand, but my own fault for not doing the research beforehand :) No big deal. The total bill was...
