During my first visit to spiral staircase many years ago, I recall having eaten way too much. Last night, fortunately, that did not change. Spiral staircase is a favorite with international flight crews for a reason. The food is delicious, the service is exceptional, and the price is definitely right!
I love the menu. Small medium or large. This evening I decided to go with the medium serving along with an Asahi beer. OK, maybe I should have opted for the small serving, but every bite was delicious. The standard dinner starts with a rather large salad. While you are enjoying your salad, an order of Gyoza makes its way to your table. Perfect. Next in line is teriyaki chicken and fries. The teriyaki chicken was consumed in short order. I took my time with the fries, enjoying dipping them in the teriyaki sauce. Finally, as if I could stomach another bite, I was asked if I wanted my pancake and ice cream. Yep, I said yes. Ha ha.
All in all, it was an excellent evening. If you decide to make your way to spiral staircase, I recommend arriving just as the restaurant opens at five. Seating is limited. Rush hour appears to be between 5:30-7:00. Definitely bring a...
Read moreDon't miss this place. It's delicious and an experience. Firstly you should know that your going to eat everything on the menu, because they serve it to you. You walk in, sit down and get a plate of salad, followed by a plate of gyoza , followed by a plate of French fries (that's right) a plate of teriyaki(ish) chicken, followed by a plate of chicken and vegetables. You keep eating and they'll keep bringing. Dessert is included meaning a pancake and ice cream. All starting from about $15 US. The price only changes based on your beverage of choice. I enjoyed all you can drink cola for that price. The food was delicious and hot off the grill which is 5 feet away. This is literally a hole in the wall. You walk up a narrow (not spiral) staircase and slide open a door into a small space that seats about 20. You feel like you need to knock on the door and give the password. Also you will likely find many English speaking customers. Come hungry, and leave satisfied with a quirky dining experience and...
Read moreI heard about this place from fellow crews and had to see it for myself. I was very pleasantly surprised. The seating is a bit small - two long tables that seat 8-10 people, plus a counter in from of the cook-top that seats four I think... For 2200 yen, I had the “all you can eat with largest spirit”. The spirit was a gin and tonic served in a Texas sized beer mug. My buddy had the largest beer option for the same price. We enjoyed the salad and French fries which rolled out first, but we were holding out for the gyoza and chicken which were next. There was another plate with bean sprouts and vegetables which complimented the gyoza nicely. Between the two of us, we asked for one second plate of gyoza and we were full. Ultimately we passed on the pancake and ice cream that were offered to complete the meal. I will definitely be back. Fast and friendly service coupled with great food in a boutique atmosphere. I would expect to stand in line to get in here at times, but certainly...
