Located along the Nikko-kaido main street and just before Shinkyō Bridge, you can stop by @nikko_tartya for a coffee and some yummy desserts.

There is an assortment of tarts available to choose from however I just went straight for the Mont Blanc since I love the stuff.

A Mont Blanc typically comprises of sweetened chestnut puree (resembling vermicelli) with whipped cream on top or inside. This one also came topped with a lovely cooked chestnut.

Just a short walk from the Shinkyo bridge and the world heritage site, this quaint dessert shop is a nice pick me up on a hot humid day.

We ordered the pudding soft serve and the mont blanc with ice cream. Both were excellent, but the mont blanc was my favorite. The chestnut flavor is bold yet not too sweet, and the price is quite fair.

Seating is limited, but staff are very friendly. Would recommend if you...
