We ate here for three nights. The first two nights were wonderful and the bugers were superb. The last night we made a reservation for 6pm and waited 2 hours to receive our order (despite the reservation and the fact the restaurant only opened at 5.30.) I don't know if it was my frustration of three children who were starving, sitting on uncomfortable seats for so long or just the overall annoyance, but the buger that was originally a 5 star plummeted to a 1. The buger patty was very oily, there was a small dollop of mayonnaise that I had to try and spread around with the lettuce, only one small slice of tomato and 2 x 1/6th of a ring of onion. It was terrible. People got served before us even when they came in after us and one of the children got served 15 odd minutes prior the rest of us so we couldn't even eat together as her meals would have been cold. She felt awful eating in front of her very hungry family. Time management is clearly a huge issue which let the whole...
Read moreThe burgers and fries look and smell good, you can get beef, chicken, or veggie, and they have drinks. It’s a cute local place. It’s not fast food, and it’s definitely not fast, but they put a lot of thought and car and effort into every order. It smells delicious. I just came for a drink. They make alright cocktails. They have a small selection of Japanese whiskey, which I wanted to try. My friend tried a couple of different cocktails, which were fine. They have a bunch of types of shots they mix. They were showing SpongeBob on a large TV. It seemed like a good place for groups or families with kids. No kids menu, but a very chill atmosphere. It’s on the Main Street through town but not the main tourist and restaurant row. The staff are very friendly. They crank the space heater and...
Read moreUnderstaffed burger joint did not live up to the hype in reviews here.
Dropped 3,000yen on a chicken sandwich with two toppings and two sides. They were sold out of eggs, and then forgot to add either of the toppings when the sandwich was ready ~40mins later.
“Grilled” chicken sandwich was more a breaded greasy, fatty piece of chicken thigh. Moscow Mule tasted like they had put zero booze in the drink.
In a town with otherwise excellent food and drink options, this was underwhelming and overpriced.
Not the restaurant’s fault, but it was inundated with cashed up Aussie bogans with mullets. Atmosphere fit the clientele.
Note to self: reserve early in Nozawa and pick restaurants with higher barrier to entry...
