This is my favourite restaurant in the Nozawa onsen . No matter what I order, the food is always delicious, and I always enjoy my meal! The servers are consistently prompt, friendly, and polite. Can't wait to go back and would not think twice to suggest to anyone searching for a restaurant in Nozawa onsen. It is a hidden gem here in the village. The food is made with the best ingredients and the pasta is freshly made! We came here for dinner last night and we had the share course. We were given different types of bread as starters. Then, for our appetisers, we had a delicious salad that came with tomatoes, mozzarella and mandarin and tomato risotto croquettes which I am definitely coming back for! We also got sausages and potatoes which were quite good. For our pasta, we got the ravioli with cheese and mashed potato with bolognese which I really enjoyed, we also got the wagyu parpadelle which is their classic and it never disappoints. The wagyu parpadelle is a crowd favourite here and it is personally my favourite out of all their pasta dishes here. We also got the bacon and cauliflower risotto which is to die for! The truffle risotto was amazing as well although next time I would like to try it with the parpadelle pasta and not the risotto. For our mains, we ordered the yellow tail which was so good, the grilled chicken and the perfectly cooked wagyu beef steak which melted in your mouth and was so delicious. Honestly you can't leave this restaurant without having an amazing meal. For dessert we were given a sweet potato and ricotta cheese dish which was surprisingly really delicious! I can't wait to come back...
Read moreThis place was FANTASTIC. I think I came across it randomly on Google maps. I never eat anything but Japanese food usually when I’m here, but I’m glad I tried out Japanese Italian food here.
EDIT: Food is still 5 stars. But we discovered after our visit that AutoReserve, the reservation service that the restaurant uses, charges 3080 yen ($20 US) to book a reservation for you. This doesn’t go towards the meal and is not refunded. This charge wasn’t clear when making the reservation either - otherwise I would have called the restaurant to make a reservation. DM’d the restaurant on IG and did not receive a response. I can understand charging this much to make a reservation in Tokyo but for a small restaurant at the edge of Nozawa town that wasn’t close to full when we visited was a bit...
Read moreA quiet Japanese run restaurant with a cozy fireplace. However, their effort to serve fine-dining Italian food completely fell short. The staff were polite and friendly, but the food took an unbearable amount of time to come out despite a small amount of customers. They kept offering us more bread and drinks, but really we just wanted our meal. When our courses finally arrived, we were repeatedly disappointed by small portions and the quality of the food. The pasta was something I'd expect to find in a mall cafeteria, and despite being cooked medium-rare, the wagyu beef did not melt in your mouth like other, cheaper restaurants in town. Worst of all, the set meal was 13, 600yen (6,800 per person), with portions so small that I can't imagine how they could be any smaller if I'd...
