Whoever designed the processes in this particular blue bottle store did so without considering the customer experience in the slightest. Here's how it goes down... There's hardly any seating in the huge double story store, so you'll be directed to wait for probably 20 minutes whilst standing on some unsafe stairs. From there when you eventually get to the front and you're led to your table you'll notice there were actually heaps of free tables available, but the staff made you wait on the unsafe stairs for no reason. Then once you'vr got your table, you'll have to leave your stuff and go back downstairs and order. You'll have to wait downstairs for your order to be made for about 10 mins. Once your order is ready you are responsible for carrying the tray of drinks up multiple flights of stairs. If you're like us, half of your drinks will end up on the tray (because when was the last time you carried a tray of drinks up two flights of stairs? ) thn when your back at your table, if you decide you want sugar, you'll have to carry your drinks back to a sugar station and put in the sugar. It's likely you'll spill more of your drink here. Then when you get back to your table , you will find out that what's left of your drink is now completely cold! You'll also discover that the granola that you ordered was actually yoghurt with 2 pieces of granola in it. Once you're finished, don't forget that it's responsibility to carry your tray back to the returns station. I left there feeling like I did more work than anybody that actually worked there. Not a great experience. As a customer experience professional, I'd love to have a few hours in there and could make the customer experience infinitely better than it currently is. Shame blue bottle wants to copy the Starbucks service model so badly. Its usually such...

Tucked away in the vibrant heart of Umeda, this Blue Bottle Coffee location is a calm, minimalist haven perfect for coffee lovers seeking quality and simplicity. The space reflects the brand’s signature clean design—open, airy, and thoughtfully curated, offering a peaceful escape from the bustle of the city.
☕ The Coffee: As expected, the coffee is top-notch. I had the classic drip coffee, and it was perfectly balanced—smooth, rich in flavor, and aromatic. You can taste the attention to detail in every sip. For those who prefer a milk-based drink, the latte is exceptionally creamy without overpowering the coffee notes.
🥐 The Food: Limited but curated selection of pastries. The lemon pound cake pairs beautifully with the coffee and is worth trying if you're in the mood for something light and sweet.
👥 The Service: Staff were friendly, efficient, and spoke enough English to help with any questions. The service is consistent with Blue Bottle’s high standards—attentive but not overbearing.
📍 Location & Ambience: A perfect pit stop whether you’re exploring the Umeda area or looking for a place to relax before hopping on a train. There's ample seating, including a few quiet corners for working or reading.
📝 Final Thoughts: Blue Bottle Coffee Umeda lives up to its reputation—premium quality coffee, relaxing atmosphere, and impeccable service. A must-visit for specialty coffee...
Read moreVery disappointing! I wanted to buy their coffee beans and I asked about the roast date. Now, the general recommendation for speciality coffee is that you should use freshly roasted beans within two weeks. Their coffee beans were OVER a month old! Taking into account that they claim to offer “speciality coffee” beans at a higher price range than other speciality coffee roasters, this is very disappointing. The coffee roasters I usually go to offer coffee beans with a roast date within three days, sometimes even from the same day. What makes the whole thing even worse is that the staff said that coffee beans should rest a while before you consume them, which is correct, but maybe one or two days, not a whole month! When I told them that the Blue Bottle Cafe in Kobe had a two week limit on their beans, they claimed that their coffee beans in Umeda are the freshest, which is not true. I frequently go to Big Bottle in Kobe and ask about their coffee beans. I gave the Kobe...
